The Progeria Research Foundation has spurred enormous progress in finding the gene causing progeria and is continuing its search for a cure.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association
funds a wide variety of research addressing muscular dystrophies, including Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy and limb-girlde muscular dystrophy that are caused by mutations in the genes encoding lamin A/C or emerin.
